David is a professional ballet dancer who fell in love with yoga as a contrasting complement to the busy, external world of the performing arts after an injury drew him to its internal, healing side. He believes yoga is a powerful tool to connect to the mind through body and breath. His goal as a teacher is to create space for others to experience the inquiry and self-discovery that a dedicated practice facilitates. He seeks to cultivate an atmosphere of creativity and playfulness in his classes—focusing on finding strength and meditation through movement. His teaching style is rooted in his original Hatha Raja training but draws from his love of the Rocket and Forrest Yoga lineages which have taught him resilience and empowerment, and Dharma Yoga which has taught him devotion and humility.
