Ashtanga Yoga

Based on the classical teachings of yoga passed down through generations to Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, Ashtanga yoga is a set series of postures that students work through, focusing on the importance of ‘vinyasa,’ – moving in conjunction with the breath. Basic postures (asanas) are taught to develop strength, stamina and flexibility, and are suitable for any age group. The Ashtanga method of teaching follows a select series of asanas connecting the breath with the movement. You will learn about Drishti (gazing point), Ujjayi breath and Bandhas.
